Partial Biography: Nick Pacheco
Nick Pacheco is proud of his role as a leader in his community. After graduating law school in 1994, Mr. Pacheco worked as a Deputy District Attorney and participated actively in his community. In 1997, he was elected to serve as a Charter Reform Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles. In 1999, he was elected to serve on the City Council representing the approximately 250,000 residents of the 14th Council District. He took the lead on many projects in areas as diverse as public works, environmental protection, and crime prevention.
Upon leaving the City Council, Mr. Pacheco entered private legal practice, serving a wide range of clients on criminal defense, family law, estate planning and general business matters. His time as a Councilmember and his experience in private practice taught him the central role homeowners play in maintaining both a healthy economy and a vibrant community.
In 2008, an unprecedented financial crisis put millions of homeowners at risk of losing their homes. Global in scope, the crisis also proved itself devastatingly local in impact, as many Californians in Mr. Pacheco's community were among those facing foreclosure. Concerned for the families in his community, Mr. Pacheco committed to making a difference and reorganized his law office as Nick Pacheco Law Group, APC to pursue a broad-based foreclosure defense and debtors' rights practice.
Since then he has worked tirelessly and with determination to see that homeowners' rights are respected and that no homeowner loses his or her family home unfairly or without all avenues for avoiding such an outcome being fully explored.
